Where can I buy small geometric wood or plastic shapes?
I’ve Googled and can’t find what I need. I need:
red, blue, yellow, green, orange, violet
circles, triangles, squares, pentagons, hexagons, octagons.
About 1 centimeter sides or 1/2 inch.

First, I’m not sure exactly what sizes you’re wanting since “1/2 inch sides” can mean a much bigger octagon than it would be a square.
I think I have seen some “Woodles” though (packages of pre-cut thin wood shapes) in craft stores but not sure of their sizes; they may also have precolored ones.
You may also find small thin shapes like that made from craft foam or from plastic.
Teacher supply stores could have them or something similar too.
Otherwise, you could make the shapes yourself from some kind of clay, probably either an air-dry clay (some of which you can make yourself, or just purchase them) or a polymer clay.
Different brands of air-dry clay may shrink a bit while they’re drying though so you’d want to do a test first if you need a very exact finished size.
For any type of clay, you’d just make a thin flat sheet of it, then use various cutters (cookie cutters, kitchen “shape cutters” like aspic/canape or veggie cutters, or the small-to-tiny shape cutters that are sold by Kemper, Amaco, and others, for use with clays–see Cutters link below for those) to cut out as many of the shapes as you needed.
Both air dry clays and polymer clays can be purchased pre-colored, or they can be colored at home by mixing color into them before shaping and hardening (air-dry clays are colored this way with acrylic paints, but polymer clays need artists’ oil paints which can be bought in small kits of tubes, or alcohol inks, or very small amounts of acrylic paints).
Or, both types of clay can also be “painted” in the regular way after hardening (acrylics are best for polymer clays).
Air-dry clays will take a day or so to harden by “drying.”
Polymer clays will harden in 15 or more minutes after being “cured” in a regular home oven at about 250-275 degrees F (they won’t ever harden by “drying”).
You can also Make Your own air-dry clays at home (usually “bread clay” or “salt dough” clay).
Those dried clays will need to be sealed though to protect them from moisture and bugs (polymer clays don’t need sealing unless you want).
Google those 2 names of homemade air-dry clays for loads of recipes and info about them.
Btw, “polymer clays” include brands like Premo, Fimo, Kato Polyclay, Cernit, and various Sculpeys (when making *thin* polymer clay items, don’t use Sculpey, SuperSculpey or Sculpey III since they’ll break with much stress; SuperSculpey-Firm is strong but comes only in gray so you’d need to paint it for colors–using acrylic paint).
